CB Capital is managed by Booth MBAs along with CB Capital Fellows, composed of selected current Booth students (VPs & VFs), supported by an Advisory Committee.
CB Capital Fellowship
We select 2-7 Venture Partners (VPs) and 2-5 Venture Fellows (VFs) per year from Booth's Full-Time, Part-Time, and Weekend MBA programs. Fellows receive carried interest (0.2-0.5%) in lieu of cash compensation.

A five-step process is followed to evaluate all investment opportunities — transparent, democratic, and rigorous.
Application
Founders submit their pitch via our online form. We review all submissions and respond to every application with feedback.
Sourcing & Diligence
Our CB Capital Fellows diligence the opportunity, leveraging our collective network of advisors, NGOs, fellows, and the broader LP community.
Founder Pitch
Shortlisted founders pitch their startup to CB Capital LPs who can ask questions to further analyze the opportunity.
LP Vote
All CB Capital LPs vote on the investment via an online form over a 5–7 day period with all relevant documentation. Majority rules.
Partnership
Decision approved. We formalize the investment and become active partners — supporting building, hiring, and future fundraising.

Fund Overview FAQs
Who can invest?
All current Booth students and alumni can invest in CB Capital, except faculty members. Residents of CA, MA, NY, OR, WA, IL, and NJ can invest as non-accredited investors. Non-U.S. citizens have no limitations.
How much can an individual invest?
The minimum investment is $50,000. Our median investment amount is $100,000. There is no upper limit on the amount an individual investor can invest.
What is the fund structure?
The fund deviates from the typical GP/LP structure. CB Capital is established as an Investment Club LLC to let unaccredited student investors participate in non-public securities.
What is the fund cycle?
The fund cycle is typical of VC funds — 10 years with possibility of extension by 2 years.
What are fees and admin charges?
There will be 0-2% annual all-in fee. There will also be 20% carried interest, distributed 0.2-0.5% performance-based for Fellows, with the remaining donated to Polsky Center or set up as a reserve.
